Salubria is an 18th century historic plantation house built by the Reverend John Thompson in Stevensburg at 19173 Salubria Lane. During the battle of Brandy Station the 2nd South Carolina Cavalry was deployed in the area under the command of Colonel Matthew C. Butler. His second in command was the brother of General Wade Hampton, Lt. Colonel Frank Hampton. Frank Hampton reached the grounds of Salubria, and with a force of 36 men charged the 1st MA cavalry. During this process he was shot in the abdomen and brought to Salubria where he died before his brother Wade could reach him. Salubria is open to the public 4 times a year. Remaining public tours this year are on June 24th, September 23rd and December 9th by the Germanna Foundation.
