The A.S. Darden House was used as a hospital during the siege, it no longer stands. I believe it was located here in the vicinity of 301 North Main Street. A.S. Darden was Captain Algernon Sidney Darden of the 13th VA Cavalry, Company C. His wife, Mary Swepson Allen Darden, was at the house during the siege, but he was not. Both are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
