In a recent post we touched on offshoot hobbies regarding the Civil War. I don’t collect relics, documents or signatures which are probably the most common things people collect with respect to the war but I do put together jigsaw puzzles (link to puzzle post) and buy comic books related to the war.
Marvel Comics did a series on the Civil War with issues on First Bull Run, Shiloh, Antietam and Gettysburg.

Wayne Vansant did this five part series on Shiloh, Stonewall Jackson’s Valley Campaign, Antietam, Gettysburg and Sherman’s Atlanta Campaign for the Heritage Collection.

In the pictures below the books on the top are from the 1950s and 60s. The Medal of Honor Book has a story on the Great Locomotive Chase. The book on the lower right was based on a TV series.

The Rebel is also based on a TV series. The others are from the 1960s or earlier. A mad scientist tries to bring Lincoln back to life!

A 2-part comic from the 1960s on Thaddeus Lowe and his balloon corps.

Two more old ones.

Just when you thought you had seen it all this modern comic- Harriet Tubman Demon Slayer.
