On June 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM as part of the Orange County 60th Anniversary Series the Historical Society Picnic will take place at Rocklands Farm Museum 10261 Rocklands Farm Rd, Gordonsville, VA. This event was originally scheduled for 5:00 PM on the 29th but the date and time have been changed.

The Rocklands property was the sight of the cavalry battle- The Battle of Bell’s Mountain on December 23, 1864 (link). Rocklands was the country home of Richard Barton Haxall, a wealthy Richmond mill owner. Lee stayed here in August 1862.
