Lake of the Woods- Civil War Sites

Lake of the Woods is a private gated community located in Locust Grove, Virginia in Orange County. The lake was not present at the time of the war and Gordon’s Flank Attack took place on the property. The Union’s VI Corps field hospital was also located here.
