Fort Randall from the Water- A Two Hour Tour

On January 6, 2026, one day after the 163rd anniversary of Lieutenant William Barker Cushing’s landing on Tilghman Point and his attack on Fort Randall I chartered a boat from Little River, SC, to view the point from the water. Captain Heath Jones owner of NMB Boat Tours and Charters took Todd Rhoades and I to the point to take pictures of the location of the fort. We proceeded from the dock at 2111 Little River Neck Road into the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

Docked ahead were two large casino boats. These are the only casinos in the state of South Carolina. They dock here and leave through the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to the Little River and out into the Atlantic Ocean. They motor out three miles into international waters and then the gambling begins.
